I don’t want a book based on the life of a golfer. My boyfriend plays a lot. And talks about how it’s so great and well…I want to surprise him with a book that is filled with skills, lessons, tricks, strategies, new ways of thinking…stuff like that..that all deal with golf. So if anyone knows of any that I can buy at Barnes and Noble, please let me know.

If I were getting someone a book on golf I would be getting them a book with lots of god information on the fundamentals of golf. No matter what his skill level he can always work on the basics. After all tour pros do all the time! I would also want a book with lots if great pic’s so I know I am understanding exactly what to do.

This book is 100% Golf by David Leadbetter. His writing is very clear and has this great way of getting all golfers to understand how important the basics are, he truly does not make them feel so basic.

No matter what your skill level you will enjoy this book!

I am participating in a golf tournament in 2 months. I can hit 60% of drives good, 40% of irons, and 20% of putts. Also I cannot hit a lob shot.

Go to the range and work on your irons, go on a putting green and putt. Hit your 3 wood off the tee instead of your driver. Go on the putting green and putt. Driving range, putting green, putting green, irons, putting green, putting green, putting green, putting green, putting green, putting green, putting green, putting green.

I forgot the statistic but it’s something like 70 percent of all shots are made 100 yards within the hole. Don’t quote me on that but it’s very close to that.

Good job with your driver, but to be safe and more accurate, go with a 3 wood off the tee. I dont’ care about the lob shot really, it’s not important right now.

I’d say areas of focus from most important to least important are this:

1. putter
2. irons
3. chipping
4. driving

If I you were to practice for 100 hours total, I’d say 70 goes to putting, 20 goes to irons, 7 goes to chipping and 3 goes to driving.

Been golfing for 5 months with lessons once a week. I’m decent but my game still needs a lot of work. Do I still need lessons or can I figure it out on my own now? (Obviously can’t ask my coach this, we know what his answer would be!)
